Through Code7 Contest , Microsoft is inviting software developers to build an application tailored to Windows 7. The next iteration of the Windows client is key to the competition, the Redmond company underlined and associated development resources in order to be eligible in the Code7 Contest. The grand prize is $17,777, the software giant informed, and a paid trip to the Professional Developer Conference 2009 in Los Angeles in November. The Code7 Contest debuted on July 13 and will end on October 10, 2009. Microsoft will announce the finalists and runners-up on October 26, and the Grand Prize winner on November 18.

Yochay Kiriaty, Windows 7 Technical evangelist on the Client Platform Evangelist code 7group says “To enter, you must: build an original, consumer-oriented client application prototype that runs natively on Windows 7 (for example Win32, WPF, MFC or WinForms – not an Air application or just a gadget) and addresses one or more of the following topic categories: Simplify My Life; More Media, More Places; Gaming; Work From Anywhere; Safeguard Your Work; and Applications for a Better Tomorrow”.

In addition, all applications submitted to the Code7 Contest will have to make use of at least one of the key technology features introduced with the operating system, including: Libraries, Windows Touch, Shell Integration, DX11 (DirectX 11), and the Sensor and Location Platform. Still, Microsoft revealed that programs that would leverage as many key features as possible would weigh more heavily than those that use only the bare minimum.

According to Kiriaty to enter this contest you must create and submit a video in which you describe and demonstrate your application Also the Entires that received by 11:59 PM  PT on August 15, 2009, will be eligible to win an “Early Bird” prize as well at the close of the first qualifications, a panel of judges will select two runner-up winners and one Finalist from each Region. Following judging, Microsoft will notify all winners and finalists and provide instructions for submitting their applications for evaluation. Finalists will be invited to present their applications to a panel of judges at the Microsoft Partner Developer Conference 2009 (PDC09) in Los Angeles, CA, USA

Microsoft indicated that one finalist would be chosen from each geographical region: China, Europe and United Kingdom, India and Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, Antarctica, and New Zealand, Middle East and Africa, North America and South and Central America. In addition to the Grand Prize, Microsoft is prepared to offer an

Early Bird Prize (a Code7 Award; and $1,000 Cash);

a Runner-up Prize (a Code7 Award; and a laptop computer);

a Finalist Prize (a Code7 Award; and an invitation and travel to present their application at PDC09 in Los Angeles, CA; and a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate signed by a Microsoft VP, estimated value $5,500).

On March 22, 2009 there was a new starting of a day with the lesson of blogging.The word we have heard a lot in the world of internet but actually not known the meaning of it.so to make it visualize Microsoft unlimited Nepal has organized a 2 day workshop on it name “A Blogging workshop with Windows: Life without walls” at Staff College, Jawalakhel in Kathmandu.

With the Introduction from Mr. Allen Bailochan Tuladhar, Country Manager, Microsoft MDP Nepal program has been started. Honorable Minister Er. Ganesh Shah also expressed his craze on blog. And also have a small presentation on it. Also his support to the youth and technology was really appreciable. Now it was the time for Blog guru Mr. Suran Maharjan from Xplore International to rock the floor. With no.of videos clippings and slides he gave the knowledge of social media, web 2.0, content communities, podcasts, second life, floksonomies etc…

After the Small break on the program Mr. Allen Bailochan Tuladhar boosted the workshop with the knowledge of Window Live Features, Web slices, RSS 2.0 and mostly the new features of IE8 with the amazing videos like accelerator, Private Browsing etc. Following the Mr. Allen Bailochan Tuladhar, Mr. Deepak Neupane gave a introduction on live@edu program held under MSDNAA. With the closing speech was given by Er. shailedra Jha, Community lead and  thanks to MSP’s and Participates 1st day of Blogging was ended up.

On March 23,2009  with the great enthusiasm 2nd day of Blogging training was held on Kathmandu Engineering College. The 2nd day training was limited up to MSP’s and a each facility from a college.With the gathering of 48 MSP’s it was so fun to each other.

Real work of 2nd day was started at 10 am with the working on Paint.net and DeepZoom also worked with the tagging on photos.After these little fun our blog master started to give on lesson on various topics like wikies, E-froum, different blogspaces.Beside our blog guru Network Specialist Er. Ganesh Joshi ,Co-ordinator Brain Works gave us a view of Office live workspaces with the knowledge of it’s Features. At 5:00 Er. Shailendra Jha formally ended the program with the Thank speech.

   Here I have a example of How to Sync your Live Writer with msdnnepal.net .For this also you first need your msdnnepal.net account in which you have activated your blog.Now as shown in Picture you can choose any of your account to create the new blog and I am choosing the others because there is no option for msdnnepal.net.After choosing your blog service just click NEXT.

Then I copied it and past on window in which it was asking me to give identity.Now it start to copy my all the setting of blog to my computer so I can work it offline also.
